Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2, 2026

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and TraceBlocker ("TraceBlocker," "we," "us"). By installing TraceBlocker or purchasing Premium, you agree to these terms.

What TraceBlocker Does

TraceBlocker blocks known trackers in your browser. TraceBlocker Premium also blocks ads. Blocking relies on filter lists, executes locally on your device, and cannot guarantee catching every tracker or ad. TraceBlocker does not guarantee lower retail prices: merchants may still set prices using existing account data, location, or order history.

Free Plan & Free Trial

Premium Subscription & Billing

Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription online at any time by clicking Manage subscription in the extension settings or through the billing portal. You will retain Premium access through the end of your prepaid billing period, and no further charges will occur.

Refunds and Your Right of Withdrawal: For annual subscriptions, you may withdraw from your Premium purchase, or any renewal, within 30 days of the charge for a full refund, without giving a reason. For monthly subscriptions, you may withdraw within 30 days of your first charge only for a full refund. Click "Withdraw from contract here" in the extension settings or at traceblocker.com/withdraw and confirm; we will email you a confirmation of receipt. You may also email [email protected] or contact Link support. Link issues refunds to your original payment method within 14 days. When you withdraw, Premium ends immediately; free tracker blocking keeps working. If you live in the EU or UK, this is in addition to your statutory consumer rights, which these terms do not limit.

License & Intellectual Property

Your License: We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use TraceBlocker on your personal devices. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, reverse engineer, or resell the TraceBlocker software engine, except for the open filter lists described below.

Filter Lists & Open Source: TraceBlocker's blocking rules are compiled from third-party filter lists, each © its respective authors: EasyList and EasyPrivacy (dual-licensed under GPLv3 and CC BY-SA 3.0), uBlock Origin's filter lists (GPLv3), and AdGuard's URL Tracking filter (GPLv3). We convert these lists into a format your browser can use; the compiled rules are modified versions of these lists, licensed under GPLv3. The original lists, the compiled rules, and the full GPLv3 text are included in the extension package (see filter-lists/README.txt). Nothing in these terms restricts your rights under the GPLv3 or any other open-source license that applies to these components, and the restrictions under "Your License" do not apply to them.

License Keys: Your Premium activation key is restricted to your personal devices. Sharing or reselling keys is strictly prohibited, and unauthorized keys may be deactivated.

Acceptable Use & Feedback

Acceptable Use: You agree to use TraceBlocker only for lawful, personal purposes. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of TraceBlocker complies with any applicable third-party terms of service for websites you visit.

Feedback: If you submit feedback, bug reports, or suggestions (such as reporting a broken site), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use and incorporate that feedback into TraceBlocker without restriction or compensation.

No Warranty & Limitation of Liability

No Warranty: Except as required by law, TraceBlocker is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that TraceBlocker will block every tracker or ad or work on every website.

Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of TraceBlocker. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to TraceBlocker is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US$50.

Exceptions: Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Governing Law & Changes

Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer residing in the EU, UK, or another country with mandatory consumer protection laws, you also benefit from the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your legal guarantee rights for digital content. Disputes may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, or, if you are a consumer, in the courts where you live. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain fully enforceable.

Changes to Terms: If we update these terms, we will update the date above. Material changes affecting active Premium subscribers will be communicated via email prior to taking effect.
